We were pleased to welcome Baroness Onora O’Neill as our main speaker for this LIDA Seminar.

Baroness O’Neill is a philosopher and crossbench member of the House of Lords, and president of the Society for Applied Philosophy and Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Baroness O’Neill’s talk titled “Data ethics and the ethics of communication” covered topics including communicative acts vs communicative content, data protection, informed consent and privacy.

There were also talks from Dr Fistein and Professor Chris Megone, Professor of Interdisciplinary Applied Ethics at the University of Leeds.
