LIDA Data Services Team

Date

LIDA, including IT Services, have built a unique Data Services team, composed of Analyst, Development and Support specialists.  The team support the delivery of leading edge research across a variety of areas.

The team is led by Tom Fleming who has 10 years’ experience of supporting biomedical research within the School of Medicine. David Batty and Samantha Crossfield were the first team members and have been in place since the inception as Analyst Developers, working directly with researchers to implement IT solutions to research problems.

They have been completed by three new Analysts, Phil Chambers, Adam Keeley and Dan Henry, who come from a variety of research and commercial backgrounds.  The team has also been bolstered by the addition of dedicated infrastructure engineer support, through the appointment of Tom Dacosta who will work directly in the team but in collaboration with the existing infrastructure team in IT Services.

We have also appointed an Information Governance Manager to really take forward our position as a credible platform for managing sensitive data in a safe and secure way.  David Bishop, who has experience in both local government and the NHS, has taken up this role and will lead on the initiative to obtain external certification of our systems, processes and procedures.
