Presentation: Identifying healthcare experiences from administrative datasets & working with public health policy

By: Lucy Elliss-Brookes (Public Health England)

Background: Lucy Elliss-Brookes, Head of Cancer Analysis at the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS) in Public Health England (PHE), is an experienced cancer data specialist who has made substantial contributions to cancer intelligence. In particular, Lucy’s work has made a significant contribution to our ability to describe cancer patients’ care pathways using healthcare data.

Abstract: Lucy will give an overview of the NCRAS, and the range of analysis that they conduct. The routes to diagnosis study uses multiple healthcare data sources to identify patients’ pathways to their cancer diagnosis. The algorithms and datasets used in the study will be explored, alongside their application and impact for cancer patients. Lucy will also summarise the ways for academic researchers to work with NCRAS.
