With improvements in diagnosis and treatment, cancer survival rates are increasing. Whilst this is good news, there is a need to understand the impact of cancer and the associated treatments on quality of life. This talk will present results from two studies which have collected quality of life information from patients living with and beyond cancer. The Life After Prostate Cancer Diagnosis (LAPCD) study sent surveys to men throughout the UK and gathered a wealth of data about the impact of the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer on physical, social, and emotional health. The Life and Bladder Cancer (LABC) has collected both cross-sectional (single snapshot) and longitudinal (4 time points over 12 months) survey data from bladder cancer patients across Yorkshire. Key insights from the survey responses will be presented, including the impact of different treatments and stage of disease at diagnosis.
