The Alan Turing Institute
The University of Leeds – A partner of the Alan Turing Institute
The Alan Turing Institute is the UK’s national institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. In recognition of its world class academic research, the University of Leeds became a partner of the Alan Turing Institute in 2018. The partnership is led by the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA), and benefits from contributions from researchers and data scientists across all University faculties as well as from LIDA’s many established research connections with external partners in business, government and the third sector.
The Alan Turing Institute aims to innovate and develop world-class research in data science and artificial intelligence and to apply this research to real-world problems, supporting the creation of new products, services, and jobs. The Turing’s ambition is to train the next generation of data science and artificial intelligence leaders and to advise policy-makers and shape the public conversation around data.
At a time of great change in the world, there is a national imperative to create an innovative data environment in the UK that will sustain the excellence of the research base, increase productivity and transform the way in which public and private sector organisations do business and provide services.
The University of Leeds and the Alan Turing Institute have a shared commitment to making great leaps in data science research in order to change the world for the better.
