Turing Data Study Group at LIDA

Data analytics and artificial intelligence are now essential tools in almost all organisations.  In partnership with The Alan Turing Institute the University of Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA) are convening a Data Study Group (DSG), to take place across 2-3 weeks in July 2021. By defining ‘data challenges’, to be addressed by a group of analytics and artificial intelligence experts, the DSG will aim to provide solutions to critical business problems for challenge proposers.

The DSG challenges will focus on the broad themes of urban, geospatial and consumer data.

The DSG will address approximately 6 data challenges. Approximately 50 volunteer researchers will take part, the majority of whom will be PhD students from across the Turing University Network.  As well as a Challenge Owner, each challenge will have a Principal Investigator who will be the main academic lead for the challenge and a Facilitator.

The DSG will run as an online event over a full two-week period, 12th to 23rd July, with the week commencing 5 July as a precursor week.
