We run data insight projects with partners across the private, public and charity sectors, often working with confidential and highly sensitive personal information. We work with all types of data including health, transport, commercial, cyber and social media.

How it works	You set the brief. We provide regular updates and a final report from the student and their academic supervisors.	You set the brief and work with one of our data science experts to create a project plan. Join team briefings for regular updates from the data scientist, who will also provide a final report at the end of the project.	For longer term research. You work with the academic supervisors to set the initial brief and remain engaged to help steer and inform the project throughout its duration.

Store, analyse and collaborate on your data in a secure platform

LASER is a cloud-based Trusted Research Environment (TRE) that provides a secure environment for your organisations sensitive and confidential data to be stored, analysed and collaborated on.

The platform is DSPT and ISO27001 accredited and supports AI and machine learning focussed research.

Receive end-to-end support from our specialist, in-house Data Analytics Team who work on a range of LASER projects from supermarkets to the NHS.

In 2023, LASER and the team served over 200 users, 70+ projects, more than £70million of research and more than 7TB of data (that's the equivalent of 5 months of continuous HD video!)

Train up your staff with our CPD accredited courses

Anyone can attend our training and development courses, join as an individual or a group for a discount.

Identified a skills gap in your team / organisation? We can design a custom-made training course to address your challenges and strengthen your capability.

Location – these can be run remotely, at your premises or at LIDA’s premises.
Cost – booking as a group is better value for money than individuals attending courses separately (minimum group size 6–10 people).

Book a one day course for 10 people from £250 per learner or a two day course for 10 people from £450 per learner.

Try before you hire

Our award-winning Data Scientist Development Programme provides data solutions to industry and public sector organisations, whilst training up early career data scientists.

We recruit early career graduates and career changers for 12 months to work on two 6-month projects each, involving real-world data and challenges provided by external project teams, to produce high-impact analytical solutions. You provide the question, we provide the answer.

Through a combination of bespoke interpersonal skills mentoring for professional development and technical skills training through applied data science, we equip our data scientists with the knowledge and self-directing abilities that will enable them to thrive in the data workforce.

Many of our data scientists have been hired by their project partner once the project has ended after developing a strong relationship and knowledge of the organisation whilst delivering real, tangible results for the organisation to use in real business cases and project delivery.
