Centre for Immersive Technologies
The first full year in our new home HELIX made possible the start of several new projects:
- Through our Digital Makers programme we led new APPG Report on "Digital Futures" highlighting skills shortage (See below)
- Exploring best practices for using XR technologies to support people with Dementia in partnership with RecreoVR (https://www.recreovr.co.uk) and the Parklane Foundation (www.parklanefoundation.org)
- Collaboration with the Rob Burrow centre to explore how we might use XR to support people with MND. Next year we will run a hackathon with the student enterprise society and XR Society.
Notable Papers:
Our community have worked across a number of broad areas this past year, with papers to compliment, here are just two we have picked out for 2024.
Case studies:
We have a collection of new case studies to be released soon showcasing more research within the centre, including...
- Gabriel Jones - Internal review led by Gabriel Jones on current usage, understanding and interests in the implementation of XR for teaching
- Rachel Coats - XR & Dementia
