Data Analytics and Society – Postdoctoral Fellowships Available

The CDT in Data Analytics and Society recently announced the introduction of a Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) Scheme aimed at those in the immediate postdoctoral stage of their career, to provide the opportunity to consolidate their PhD through developing publications, their networks, and their research and professional skills.

The CDAS will appoint three fellows to start on the 1st October 2018.  Posts may be based at any of the CDAS partner institutions, and will be fixed term positions on either a one-year full-time or two year part-time contract. The Fellowship will include salary costs, and additional funds, up to £10,000 may be applied for to support research activities including travel, subsistence, conference attendance, training, fieldwork and mentor costs.

The call is open to applicants who have completed their PhD at a research organisation that is part of a DTP (open link for list of institutions) or CDT (open link for list of institutions) and who are within 12 months of completing their PhD. At the submission deadline, the applicant must either have been awarded a PhD or have submitted their thesis and passed their viva voce with minor corrections, with the expectation that the PhD will be awarded by the fellowship start date.
