Chris Bates

Chris is Head of Informatics and Analytics at TPP and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Yorkshire Centre for Health Informatics, University of Leeds.  After qualifying with a doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Manchester he has worked with TPP since 2006.  Chris supervised a Knowledge Transfer Partnership in collaboration with the UK Government’s Technology Strategy Board that led to the development of the TPP research programme and ResearchOne as a not-for-profit enterprise.  The programme aims to help in the development of innovative risk stratification models and decision support tools in order to bring benefits in clinical practice and efficiency across health and social care.  Chris brings expertise in data analytics and statistics and has special interests in epidemiology, outbreak detection and the impact of big data on clinical research.
