Immersive Technologies
We started the Immersive Methodologies network through an external seminar series showcasing state-of-the-art research and application.
We had an incredible and diverse, set of speakers - 11 talks, 4 from international speakers and industry, spanning the use of XR in art and commerce through to virtual work placements for teenagers and training clinicians for complex surgical procedures.
We will soon release the full playlist of presentations on YouTube.
In addition to these seminars, we also hosted 3 workshops, including collaborations with the LIDA Visualization Programme and the Digital Education Service, to promote internal collaboration
New projects:
- Early exploration in one of aforementioned workshops on Hurricane/ozone simulations (Mark Richardson, Anne Barber & Helen Burns, Centre for Environmental Modelling And Computation (CEMAC)). Next year we will run a hackathon on this.
- Launched the Immersive Healthcare Collaboration Website (beta): ImmersiveHealthcare.org as part of Workstream for Leeds NIHR Biomedical Centre
