Presentation: The Genetics of Melanoma – pathways and subtypes
By: Dr Mark Iles (University of Leeds)
Abstract: I’ll be presenting our most recent work on germline melanoma genetics, including the discovery of many new genes associated with melanoma risk and what can be gained by combining such analyses with genetic studies of pigmentation data. I’ll also be talking about the insights we’ve gained by studying the genetics underlying different pathological subtypes of melanoma and how genetics might differentially affect the risk of melanoma on different parts of the body.
