Presentation: Public engagement with data sharing
By: Chris Carrigan (University of Leeds HDR UK Rutherford Fellow)
Abstract: With an increased focus on the potential uses and value of data, and in particular data about our health and lifestyles, what are the public perceptions about this topic. In particular, how do we balance the perceived risks with the potential benefits, and how do we ensure a fair deal for the public and patients.
This session will explore how people feel about the current uses of their data, and describe different ways in which patient and public engagement and inclusion has been used effectively, to enable research to take place.
