Matthew’s research focuses on palliative care provision across the UK, alongside the development of services for people living with serious health-related suffering in resource-constrained settings. In Nepal, Nigeria and Uganda Matthew has developed interventions that leverage digital technology to overcome underdeveloped infrastructure, human resource limitations and geographical and environmental factors. Matthew’s presentation will provide an overview of digital health projects undertaken with partners in Nigeria and Uganda to support care delivery for people living with advanced cancer. He will provide an overview of work undertaken in Uganda to develop remote symptom monitoring approaches in refugee settlements and partnerships in Nigeria to develop electronic patient-reported outcome measures for people during radiation therapy.
